Reading Biographies and Autobiographies

Cite specific textual evidence to support analysis of primary and secondary sources.

Determine the central ideas or information of a primary or secondary source; provide an accurate summary of the source distinct from prior knowledge or opinions.

Identify key steps in a text’s description of a process related to history/social studies (e.g., how a bill becomes law, how interest rates are raised or lowered).

By the end of the week, you should be able to explain how the environment influenced the people within your text.

You should be able to explain how the environment shaped and influenced the person your text focuses on by asking what language helps me determine the mood of the environment?

How does this mood influence this person’s feelings and decisions?

By using these two questions, you will analyze the person of interest, the Jewish communities and Christian communities in Europe before and during World War II.

We are attempting to find answers to our big  question:

What was the most significant event that caused the Holocaust-the mass genocide of 11 million people between 1942-1945? Hopefully, by examining the mood of the environment, we will find the answer to our question.
