Quote of the Day:

“Mistakes have the power to turn you into something better than you were before”

Good Morning Scholars!

Take time to read the quote. What does this mean to you and how might you apply your understanding of this quote today?

We are taking a step back from tough text and play with poetry today. The few questions I’d like you to keep in mind are: Is this poetry or prose? Does the text fill the page from the left  margin to the right margin or do I see short paragraph also known as stanzas? What about the language of the poem, after my first read, did I notice lots of figurative, descriptive language? What about how it sounds when I read? Does it read as if someone is speaking or does it sound as if it has rhythm?

Think about it:

What text characteristics does it have?

Are there lots of facts or does it have lots of figurative language?

What does it sound like when I read it?

These are the questions we will use today to determine if something is prose or poetry.
